Mommy blogging (Part 2) – Generating Revenue
In our previous article we talked a little about mommy blogging. One thing we haven’t discussed in that article is how you can gain revenue by doing this.
We are aware of the fact that many blogger moms are doing this for pleasure and some of them used to be regular bloggers whose work naturally took this path after having a baby. However, it would be a shame not to make the best of it.
If people are investing blindly in something, it’s their children. You don’t have to be a parent to see just how expensive baby-related items are, starting withclothes and toys and ending with insurance plans and other things of sort. Companies and advertisers see our love for our children and make the industry thrive.
What’s the best way to generate revenue as a mommy blogger?
Advertorials. Make sure you have all your contact details listed on the website and the collaboration offers will soon come. Just as IT companies give their products to IT bloggers, baby companies will offer you a lot of opportunities.
Be smart! Don’t accept every offer just for the money or the free stuff. For instance, if you believe in a healthy lifestyle and you try to give your child only organic food, don’t sign a contract with a company like Nestle. You will lose your credibility.
Be fair! Not all the products you will test will please you, but the company/advertiser knows there is a risk. You are not obliged to say only good things about the items. However, don’t trash them either. If you don’t like something, simply state your opinion and say it’s not good for you and your baby, but it might help others.
Be consistent! If you endorsed a company, stick to them. Don’t let anyone else see you dancing with the competition.
