We are well aware of the fact that many of you are passionate about traveling, but have you ever considered making a job out of it? Well, you can! The answer is travel blogging.
They say “Choose a job you love and you will never have to work a day in your life”. However, as simple as it may seem in words, the reality looks a bit different. Let’s face it, no one will give you money for posting selfies from your vacation. Travel blogging, just like any other type of blogging, requires hard work and commitment. Let’s see a few things you should take into account in order to be successful in this niche.
1. Write well!
You may have a lot of experiences to offer, but if your writing skills are not very good, people will not come back to your website. You have to have impeccable grammar and knowledge on how a text should be structures. No one want to read a messy and unorganized text about your trip to Greece.
Make sure your article are of real use for your readers. Walk a mile in their shoes and think about what you would like to read on a travel blog. Don’t go on an on about the beautiful beaches, give some real information. Where did you find accommodation? How much did you pay for it? Where did you eat, how much is a beer? How good is the public transportation system? Is the parking free in the city?
Even though you didn’t get to experience everything, inform yourself/ask about it so you can further on inform your readers. For instance, if you traveled by car, you can also post about the plane schedule and fares; your readers might prefer this option.
3. Buy a good camera and take a lot of pictures!
A picture can speak a thousand words, but only if it’s high quality. By posting blurry images taken with your mobile phone, you will never be taken seriously.
To be continued.
